WE SPECIALIZE IN MELT PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS & TRANSMITTERS USED IN THE PLASTIC EXTRUSION INDUSTRY.

At NoNonSensors, our philosophy is to provide the best performing and most cost-competitive melt pressure products on the market, along with the fastest delivery times and the best technical support in the industry.

Permium melt pressure transducers

With years of experience and a complete database of most of the major brands, including Gefran, Dynisco, ECHO, GP:50, Gneuss, and even the old Gentrans, we can usually quickly quote you a plug and play replacement

NoNonSensor pressure transducers are built with sturdy construction required to meet the demands of the heavy manufacturing environment. That said, there are a few areas that can be vulnerable for all sensors, you’ll want to be mindful of (also see our NNS Troubleshooting page for a print off). The first and most critical area to protect and inspect, are the diaphragms. These are the physical contact surfaces down in the process, where the melt flows past. This is where sensor meets process!  Behind the diaphragm membrane, is a fill tube and/or thermocouple that provide your first level of feedback to the sensor and the controls systems.

A different approach, using a new method of manufacturing.

ALL NoNonSensors transducers are checked before being shipped out. Once received in plant, we recommend inspecting all sensors because, although infrequent due to good packing, damages can happen during shipping. Take a quick look, you won’t regret it.

About NoNonSensors

We are dedicated to investing heavily in the latest technology and production to stay competitive in the marketplace, and are able to offer comprehensive solutions to the selection and sizing of products best suited for each customer application. Melt pressure and temperature are two of most critical data points of a properly running and profitable extrusion line. Exceeding limits, either high or low, can result in product quality issues, mechanical problems, production time lost, and even safety issues for your team. Melt sensors relay critical call to action alerts to your floor supervisors. They alert when back pressure is building prior to exceeding tooling tolerances, as well signal adequate heat up and the signal to start running production (making money!). They also alert the user when a filtering screen changer needs to be swapped out ensuring no disruption in flow, volume, and quality of the melt.

Let NoNonSensors take the pressure off your melt systems!

The first question is usually – so, how do I select a new transducer for a process or new transducer brand?   Good question and an important one! The easiest way for most is to simply email a photo of your current transducer label or part number to sales@nonnonsensors.com.

With years of experience and a complete database of most of the major brands, including Gefran, Dynisco, ECHO, GP:50, Gneuss, and even the old Gentrans, we can usually quickly quote you a plug and play replacement. Two key mechanical considerations are the connection to the process (thread type) and the pin configuration (that connect the sensorbody to the connector cable). Our standard thread, nearly universal here in the US, is ½-20UNF, but if you do have more exotic sensors, we can accommodate metric versions too.   For the pins, we use the most common 6 pin and 8 pin styles, but always happy to provide those drawings, or you can look in our Technical section. Most folks know a few specifics of what they need, so we can always start there – pressure range, signal type (3.33mV for the discreet indicators or 4..20mA for the PLC users are far and aware the most common).    Email us with what you know, and we’ll fill in the gaps and provide you a quote with full detail for you to check. The other key question is the fill type. This is the tiny amount of fluid that fills the tube (above) that relays the mechanical energy from the diaphragm to the sensor.  The historic standard is Mercury, and we can provide that and stock, but if you run food or food grade products or are in a plant moving to no mercury, you’ll want to look at our Alloy fill material (upon request, a spec sheet can be provided). That to say, we’re ready to meet you and your planning teams where you’re at.   Email us and we’ll get started.
